When my former client Rachel reached out to me a few months ago to ask me to officiate her wedding… I got a clear and resounding YES!
It felt like a huge blessing to see a client all the way through the journey… from taking Soulmate School… to working with me one on one… to having the honor of performing her wedding ceremony.
It truly was a highlight of my career.
When I met them both in person for the first time (we’d talked on Skype quite a bit) the day before the wedding, I was struck by their energetic connection and the warmth that flowed between them.
When I first began working with Rachel she was attracting men who had a lot of unresolved issues they hadn’t touched yet. And when she did meet someone she liked, they would disappear as soon as she showed interest.
Then, right after our last session, she met Tak. (Click here to read the story of how they met)
I hear women say all of the time that they don’t believe that there are conscious single men out there.
Rachel’s story is one of many that prove that these men do exist.
Tak is open-hearted and masculine. A therapist who’s done his own inner work. A practicing buddhist with a great sense of humor. A man who asks for MORE vulnerable connection from Rachel.
And he’s crazy, madly in love with with his bride.
They have a playfulness together that is infectious and their chemistry is palpable.
The poem they chose to read to each other just before they said their vows really speaks to the way they feel about one another.
I Love You
by Roy Croft
I love you,
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.
I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.
I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can’t help
Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out
Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find.
I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple;
Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.
I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good
And more than any fate
Could have done
To make me happy.
You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.
You have done it
By being yourself.
This part of the ceremony made me cry – I had to get it together quickly when it was my turn to speak again.
Seeing Rachel’s journey from her dating challenges to her joyful wedding day was such an inspiration – a beautiful example of how powerful it is when you commit to clearing your blocks to love.
